Baby Birds and Awards Programs

Jacob receives the Eagle Award for his classroom. The Eagle Award is for excellence in character and leadership. He also received the iniciative award and PE and music awards. We love you Mrs. Musser! Thank you for teaching Rebekah last furlough and Jacob this furlough.

Abigail and Rebekah received awards for zero demerits this year. Abigail also received awards for excellence in math and English. She was nominated for the Christian character award in 7th grade. Rebekah is thrilled for her siblings and has learned that she needs to be more involved in school activities, she plans to do that in college! Benjamin wasn't at the awards program since he is traveling to the Wilds with his dad. He received the award for excellence in chemistry! He was also nominated for the 10th grade boys Christian character award. Thanks Faith Christian for all you do, we will miss not being a part of school!

We never know what is going to bloom in the beds in front of our house!

These guys are flapping their wings now! Momma is doing a good job feeding them!!

Okay, I wasn't too fond of this new find...

This snake (they thought it is was garden snake, internet searching reveals it is more like a rat snake) was about 4 ft long. Dustin, our neighbor, found it down by the pond. He called David, who took a box down to the pond so that we could save it for the kids to see. He was then released into the woods. You won't find me walking through that tall grass now.

Where do you sleep when your bedroom floods?

Jacob doens't look too comforable but he doesn't seem to mind!

You have to sleep anywhere you can. I think we pulled out almost every blanket we have for them to make their beds!!

Last night was the spring concert for the high school. It was a full evening with bands, readers theaters, choirs and handbells. It was an enjoyable time. The choirs were great!

Full Jr. High Choir, they are really good.

Mother's Day

I enjoyed spending some extra time with my mom on Mother's Day. We actually went out to eat (all of us) on Saturday since restaurants were crowded on Sunday. It was a nice time. On Sunday I did stop in for a visit and to give her a gift. I am so thankful for the supportive and loving mother that God gave me.

Spring at Our House

Robins, eggs, liris', green everywhere, and, yes, dandelions...it is absolutely beautiful at our house! Of course this all means, work outside, cook outs and fun!

Mom S., this picture is for you!

Benjamin's favorite flower growing everywhere in front of our house.

We are working on getting rid of the dandelions.

Brothers and Cousins

Silly Girls

Dressed alike, act alike, look alike...suppose their brothers?

Axies and Allies, Joshua won.

Cousins and Friends

Here are a few shots from our weekend in Iowa. Benjamin and Joshua celebrated (early) their birthdays. They are good friends and only once every 5 years do they get to celebrate their May birthdays together. Joshua is 355 days older than Benjamin.

Spring Concert Pictures

Tonight Jacob and all the 4th, 5th and 6th graders had their spring choir concert. They did a great job. There were at least 100 of them singing.

Brief Update

This sure has been a busy week. I (Kandie) spent several hours at our church's community center helping with some conference meals. I enjoy my work there. School for the children is winding down, we are looking forward to our time together each day and more travels. Tomorrow we head to Ankeny, Iowa to report to our supporting church there. It is also a time to see family again. The girls are especially excited about playing with their girl cousins. We will celebrate Joshua's and Benjamin's birthdays while they are together. They have always been good friends and rarely get to have their birthdays together. Joshua's is the 15th and Ben's is the 5th. Next week my first born with be 16! So...today is the do laundry and pack for the trip day. Since we will be back on Monday night, there won't be much to take with us. We will be visiting FBBC (Faith Baptist Bible College) briefly so that our older children can see what that school is like.
