This snake (they thought it is was garden snake, internet searching reveals it is more like a rat snake) was about 4 ft long. Dustin, our neighbor, found it down by the pond. He called David, who took a box down to the pond so that we could save it for the kids to see. He was then released into the woods. You won't find me walking through that tall grass now.

oh my word. That is totally disturbing! That's as big as my children.
Perhaps future residents should be advised to pack hip boots!
